The programme of events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the death of Enrique Gran is presented at the Palacio de la Magdalena.
The “Año GRAN” (Great Year) gives its name to a programme whose size makes it the largest tribute to a Cantabrian figure. The programmed events will begin in Cadiz, with a great exhibition in the Santa Catalina Castle, more than 100 works that will later be transferred to Santander, to be exhibited in the Palacio de Sobrellano and the Cantabrian Parliament. The Santander International Festival will have as its image for 2009, the poster that Gran created in the 80s for an edition of the FIS, also dedicating the world premiere of a work composed in homage to Enrique Gran commissioned by the Festival, to the González Acilu National Music Award. A Series of Conferences in the Ateneo de Santander and a monument to the memory of Enrique Gran by the sculptor Gema Sodevilla on the main promenade of Santander, complete this programme organised by the Enrique Gran Foundation thanks to the important institutional support of the Government of Cantabria, Santander City Council, Cadiz City Council, Cadiz 2012, the Parliament of Cantabria, the Santander International Festival, the Menendez Pelayo International University, and the Ateneo de Santander
